Monday Interview- Meet Maryanne with Name Art For Kids!

Maryanne, is still pretty new to Etsy, like most of us, it's great to get to know you! Great shop!

Who are you?
I am a busy girl! I'm a mom, I'm a wife, I'm a small business owner, I'm a former pharmaceutical rep and now I'm running an after-school extended care program and most recently I'm a blogger and a busy mom of ETSY! Like everyone else in this group - I wear many hats!

Where do you live? I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Go Phillies!!

How many kids? Husband/partner? I have one son who almost 9 months old and I have been married to my husband for almost 4 years.

And so you have a shop:

What's it's name? Name Art 4 Kids (http://appleandjax.etsy.com)
What do you sell? I sell customized children's name art. Customers can choose their own letters to design their own artwork or I can do it for them. We can match the child's interests or bedroom decor.

How do you find the time? Thank GOD my son is a good sleeper! I do all of my work during naps or after his (early) bedtime of 6:30. When Daddy is home I can get some good amount of work done as well!

Some of your favorite things?
Movie- Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - hysterical, a classic
Color- I like to wear yellow, but I also love greys and blues
Food- I'm not picky - salty, sweet, shell fish, I love it all!
Pets - 2 cats, Apple and Jax - whoever said cats are low maintenance was lying!
Kids book- (big kids) Where the red fern grows - omg the tears after reading that one!
(litte kids) - the giving tree or the monster at the end of this book
Time of day- is it awful to say bedtime????
Cartoon Character- who knows? I'm not there yet!

Thanksgiving Dinner Rachael Ray Style

Yesterday on the Rachel Ray Show, she did a complete Thanksgiving Day dinner. She made it simple and affordable and shared her families stuffing recipe she has been eating her entire life. I think I might just try it this year. Here is her entire Thanksgiving Guide. The apron is from our own, StolenTime's Shop.

Rachael Ray's Apple and Onion Stuffin'

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), plus extra for oiling the pan
1/2 stick of butter, softened
1 fresh bay leaf
4 ribs celery and greens from the heart, chopped
1 medium to large yellow onion, chopped
3 McIntosh apples, quartered and chopped
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons poultry seasoning
1/4 cup parsley leaves, chopped
8 cups cubed stuffing mix, such as Pepperidge Farm brand, or homemade croutons of any bread you choose – pumpernickel and rye work well
4-5 cups chicken stock
If preparing as "Stuffin' Muffins:"
Additional 1/2 stick butter, softened
1 egg, beaten

PREPARATION
Pre-heat the oven to 400°F.

Pre-heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the EVOO to the skillet and the butter. When the butter melts, add the bay leaf, celery, onions and apples. Season with salt, pepper and poultry seasoning and cook 5-6 minutes or until vegetables and apples begin to soften.
Add the parsley and stuffing cubes to the pan and combine. Moisten the stuffing with chicken broth until all of the bread is soft, but not wet. Remove bay leaf and let cool either in the pan or in a bowl.

Brush a cookie sheet or a metal oven safe oval tray with EVOO. Form a loaf shape out of your stuffing and bake until set and crisp on top, about 15-20 minutes.

For individual muffins: brush a 12-muffin tin with the remaining butter. Add the beaten egg to the cooled stuffing mixture.
Using an ice cream scoop, fill and mound up the stuffing in muffin tin.
Bake until set and crisp on top, about 10-15 minutes. Remove Stuffin' Muffins to a platter and serve hot or room temperature.

Tuesday Time Saving Tip - Good idea!

It's AngelaSpots here again. While browsing through Etsy keyword "BusyMomsTeam" I found these two things which are perfect for busy Moms. If you find another can't live without item please suggest it!

The first is a Holiday Shopping Notebook by tricia16 . If you're like me and have a bunch of people to buy for you probably have trouble remembering what you bought for who and where you have it hidden. What a great idea this notebook is to keep us a little more organized.

The second is this mei tai by BabyToGo. Babywearing is a must for a busy Mom, especially one with older children who are on the go. Mei tais are SO much more comfortable than the commercially avaliable ones (like Snugglies) and can be used longer, BabyToGo says her carrier is good to 15 kilos (or 33 lbs). My toddler loves riding piggyback style. I couldn't live without mine.
